Esther Melton is a national award winning watercolor artist.
In her still life compositions, color is important in enhancing the
design and emotional impact of the paintings.
She carefully chooses the most transparent paints to achieve the illusion
of sunlight streaming through the everyday objects she uses in her paintings.
Although her paintings are realistic, she enhances the values, shapes,
and color of her reference objects in order to enrich the emotional, aesthetic,
and design aspect of each work. This
helps connect the viewer to the energy and emotions of each painting.
